First customers hooked up to natural gas in Brunner

Natural gas will mean lower energy costs for businesses and residents, compared to available alternatives, and lower emissions.

That’s according to Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae who was in Brunner on Monday to mark the gas meters officially spinning for the first sixteen customers in the area.

The Perth East project is being delivered by Enbridge Gas with construction underway on a new natural gas pipeline that has already begun bringing energy to customers in Brunner.

Last summer, the provincial government announced $814,000 in funding to connect about 44 households to natural gas in the region.
