Stratford’s Rainbow Crosswalk is being replaced this week.
Officials with Stratford-Perth Pride and local restaurant Sirkel Foods say the new crosswalk will be put in place at Wellington and Downie Streets.
They are also thanking the community and businesses who donated to fixing the crosswalk.
SPP will be speaking with Stratford City Council next month about support in maintaining the symbol of 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion and making sure it doesn’t fall into disrepair again.
The crosswalk was first installed in October 2021 only for it to be vandalized immediately in what police say was a “incident of hate-motivated graffiti”.
