Taylor Swift ticket raffle a great way to bring positivity to a serious issue

A raffle for two tickets to see Taylor Swift will support United Way Perth-Huron’s Housing initiative.

United Housing Director, Kathy Vassilakos, said United Way is thrilled to offer a chance to watch Swift in Toronto on Nov. 23, while helping the organization continue to build on a mission to provide affordable housing solutions for those in need.

“It’s such a positive way to bring attention to a very serious issue,” Vassilakos told MyStratfordNow.

Launched in November, 2023, United Housing is the region’s first non-profit housing organization dedicated to developing and operating mixed-income rental units.

It aims to help address the housing crisis and work toward a vision of everyone living in housing that is both suitable and affordable.

Vassilakos said the fundraiser will play a big part in helping to build capacity and get the first projects ready and off the ground.

The tickets are courtesy of Dr. Erin and Mike Heisz.

Erin Heisz said United Housing is a cause her family passionately supports.

The tickets are on the floor at the Rogers Centre, and part of a VIP package that includes Taylor Swift swag.

A number of local businesses in Perth and Huron counties are selling raffle tickets.

Those locations include: Blowes Stationery, Juno, Junction 56 and the United Centre in Stratford, BK Brand Name Clothing and Gifts and Bakelaar Jewellers in Listowel, Wuerth’s Shoes and All Around the House in Goderich, Wuerth’s Shoes in Exeter, Sun Rayz in St. Marys, Annette’s Treasures and I Want That Bag Consignment in Wingham, Blooms N’ Rooms in Seaforth, and Penny’s and the Pine Café and Bistro in Blyth.

Tickets are $10 each. The draw will take place on Oct. 23 at Junction 56 Distillery in Stratford, at 6:30 p.m. You must be 18 years or older to purchase tickets.
