Book Launch for Willa’s House by David Booth

August 18 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm

Free

Willa’s House is a nostalgic story wrapped around Willa, a teacher, and her house, which still stands in Stratford. Author David Booth used Willa’s house as a metaphor for a life well lived in a small Canadian town. The book is a tribute to women teachers, the joy in life’s small moments, and to home.

Willa’s House was the last book by David Booth, Professor Emeritus, OISE, University of Toronto, author of many books and educator extraordinaire, who spent his life helping children learn and love to learn, and training teachers to do likewise.

David Booth passed away in December 2018 before the book went to press, but he did see and delight in the cover and some of the art.

Proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to the Professor David Booth Memorial Bursary, University of Toronto.

Close friends of David, including Wendy Cochran, Kathleen Gould Lundy, and Larry Swartz, will be there to provide readings and share David’s inspiration for writing the book.
