Book Launch for Willa’s House by David Booth August 18 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm Free « THE ANNUAL DECORATION OF THE HARRINGTON CEMETERIES 2019 Concerts in the Park – “Brampton Concert Band” » Willa’s House is a nostalgic story wrapped around Willa, a teacher, and her house, which still stands in Stratford. Author David Booth used Willa’s house as a metaphor for a life well lived in a small Canadian town. The book is a tribute to women teachers, the joy in life’s small moments, and to home. Willa’s House was the last book by David Booth, Professor Emeritus, OISE, University of Toronto, author of many books and educator extraordinaire, who spent his life helping children learn and love to learn, and training teachers to do likewise. David Booth passed away in December 2018 before the book went to press, but he did see and delight in the cover and some of the art. Proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to the Professor David Booth Memorial Bursary, University of Toronto. Close friends of David, including Wendy Cochran, Kathleen Gould Lundy, and Larry Swartz, will be there to provide readings and share David’s inspiration for writing the book. + Google Calendar+ iCal Export Details Date: August 18 Time: 11:30 am - 1:30 pm Cost: Free Event Category: Family Event Tags:Entertainment, Stratford News Website: https://www.plumleafpress.com Venue Stratford Festival Studio Theatre 34 George Street East Stratford, Ontario N5A3L7 Canada + Google Map Phone: 1-800-567-1600 Website: www.stratfordfestival.ca/myacademy Related Events A Huron County Christmas Carol December 9|Recurring Event (See all)An event every day that begins at 12:00 am, repeating until December 22, 2019 Whale of a Tale December 9 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm|Recurring Event (See all)An event every week that begins at 6:30 pm on Monday, repeating until December 30, 2019 A Huron County Christmas Carol December 10|Recurring Event (See all)An event every day that begins at 12:00 am, repeating until December 22, 2019 + Submit Event
