Victorian Era Days Celebration

The Van Egmond House-Museum, Egmondville, ON, is hosting a “Victorian Era Day” celebrating the 200th birthday anniversary of Queen Victoria. The event will take place on the grounds at the Van Egmond House-Museum, 80 Kippen Road, Egmondville, ON., Sunday, May 19, 2019. The gates will open at 10:00 and close at 4:00 pm. There is parking available and there will be washroom facilities on the grounds.

Opening ceremonies at 10:30 am.

  • Present Arms

  • Raising of the flag

  • God Save the Queen” & “O Canada”

  • Opening remarks by David Yates

  • Congratulatory letters (Queen Elizabeth & Governor General)

Candle making Tin smith
Blacksmith Rug hooking
Canoe making Leather making
Book Launching (David Yates) Victorian costumes
Croquet Badminton
Sack race Infantry/Mounted demonstration
Infantry tactics Victorian era music

Infantry/Mounted Demonstrations

Infantry Tactics – 11:00 am & 1:30 pm

Mounted Demonstration time – 11:30 am & 2:00 pm

A Victorian luncheon will be served from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm.

Luncheon ticket prices

(adult $8.00) (under 12yrs $5.00)

Afternoon tea (two 20-person sittings) will be served inside the house

  • 1st sitting 2:00 pm – 2:45 pm

  • 2nd sitting 3:00 pm – 3:45 pm

  • Tickets $8.00 ea.

Anyone attending this event is encouraged to wear a “Victorian” costume.
