Stratford Welcomes Refugees hits donation goal

Stratford Welcomes Refugees has hit its donation target. The group has raised over $217,000.

That means they’ll be able to realize their goal of bringing five Syrian refugee families to Stratford.

The first, a family of 10, got here just before Christmas and the second arrived last week. The remaining three are expected to arrive within four months.

In a release Mayor Dan Mathieson thanks everyone who’s been involved and says he’s “intensely proud to be part of such a kind, caring, and giving city.”
