Metrolinx asks for meeting with City of Stratford

The wheels keep turning when it comes to the future of passenger rail service in Stratford.

After a nearly two-year-long pilot project that saw Go Train service operate between London and Toronto, with stops in Stratford and St.Marys, came to an end on October 13th

Stratford Mayor Martin Ritsma says Metrolinx has now asked for a meeting with the city.

He says they continue to try to find solutions to bring the service back.

“We continue to work with organizations like Transportation Ontario, an advocacy group, about what they see is important in information that we need to share.”

Ritsma says a firm date hasn’t been set for the meeting but he expects it to take place in the next two weeks.
