Stratford area’s unemployment rate dropped in October

The unemployment rate dropped in our area last month with manufacturing one of the industries hit the hardest.
The Four County Labour Market Planning Board says the rate in the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula Economic Region decreased by 0.6 percentage points in October to 3.6%.
Manufacturing experienced the biggest loss followed by construction.
Forestry, fishing, mining, quarrying, oil and gas experienced the biggest gain.
The labour force size in the area also shrank by 2,500, decreasing from 162,700 in September to 160,200 in October.
