Perth County releases severe winter weather guide

It’s now easier to find the information you need with the blustery winter weather on the horizon.

Coming out of a debriefing session on the severe winter weather event that hit the Stratford are around Christmas last year, Perth County has put together a severe winter weather guide that includes information like what a severe winter weather event is and what the alert levels from Environment Canada mean.

The plan comes in both a digital and print version and can be picked up at various locations throughout Perth County.

Officials say all of the information needed to be prepared for winter weather can be found in the guide, saving people from having to go searching for it.

Perth County’s Community Emergency Management Coordinator Rick Fraser says it’s all about planning.

“The county and the surrounding areas is no stranger to winter weather, we’re no stranger to whiteouts and road conditions that are less than favorable.”

In Stratford, you can pick up a copy of the guide at the Perth County Courthouse and the Stratford-Perth Archives.
