St.Marys Healthcare Foundation reaches $3 million goal for its capital campaign

The St.Marys Healthcare Foundation is celebrating after reaching its $3 million goal for its capital campaign.

The money will go towards renovating the east and west wings of the St. Marys Memorial Hospital with upgrades including new duct work and electrical throughout the hospital.

There will also be new headwalls and patient lifts in all patient rooms, barrier-free washrooms, and a new mechanical system for the isolation room.

Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance CAO Andrew Williams says there are two different parts to the project.

“We’re in the middle of the project that this campaign was targeted towards, we’re doing it in two phases, the first phase will be finished probably in May and the second phase later this year.”

Officials say over 400 community members, businesses, and service clubs donated to the campaign.
