Festive RIDE campaign officially launches in Perth County

Drivers are being urged to make the right decision when it comes to not being impaired behind the wheel.

The annual Festive RIDE campaign began on November 16th and the official launch in Perth County was held on Friday with Stratford Police and Perth County OPP working together to keep the roads safe.

Perth County OPP Constable Beth Hanlon says police will be out and about day and night.

“There are still people making the decision to drive impaired so by us being out there and conducting enforcement and education we’re hoping that drivers make good decisions.”

So far in 2023, there have been 53 impaired driving/over 80 occurrences in Perth County, and over 78 impaired driving charges have been laid.
