Bundle up, be prepared, and take your time on the roads.

The first real taste of winter weather is hitting Perth County this week and bringing with it over 20 centimetres of snow over the next few days.

More seasonal temperatures are expected to return later in the week but, depending on how much snow falls, some areas could still be left with some.

Environment Canada Warning Preparedness Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says it’s time to get your winter tires on if you haven’t already.

“There will still be some mild days here and there but it certainly does like more winter-like conditions is here to stay for the Stratford area during the course of the coming weeks.”

As for what December will bring, Coulson says it’s expected to be a bit warmer than normal with some wintry days mixed in.
