Canada Summer Jobs 2024 program now open for employers

Employers can now apply to be a part of the Canada Summer Jobs 2024 program.

Funding is available through the program for not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers, and small businesses of under 50 employees to hire qualified young people aged 15 to 30.

Perth-Wellington MP John Nater says more than 370 young people were employed through the program last summer in the Stratford area.

He adds, however, that employers should be notified if they’ve received program funding much earlier than mid-April.

“The mid-April notification date is much too late for most students to find out if they have a summer job, but employers also must budget and therefore need confirmation of whether or not they will receive funding well in advance of this date,” said M.P. Nater. “University and college students in particular must have an idea of where they will be working in the summer by mid-February.”

More information on the program can be found on the program website.
