A higher number of impaired drivers are being charged on area roads compared to last year.
After the first fifteen days of the Festive RIDE Campaign, officers in the West Region have laid 122 impaired driving charges.
That’s compared to the 75 impaired charges laid during the first 15 days of the campaign in 2022.
Police from the 13 detachments in the West Region have held 730 RIDE check events this year compared to 577 last year.
The campaign runs until New Year’s Day.
