COVID-19 outbreak at Stratford General Hospital declared over

Admissions and transfers at Stratford General Hospital’s Integrated Stroke and Telemetry Unit are being accepted again.

Staff members with the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance say the COVID-19 outbreak, which began last Friday, December 15th, has officially been declared over.

The outbreak made it so patients could only have one family caregiver or visitor per day.

In-and-out privileges were also restricted, and visitors had to wear full personal protective equipment, including masks, gloves, gowns, and eye protection.

Now that the outbreak is over, visitor restrictions have returned to normal, but masks are still required in all clinical areas, including waiting rooms.

Staff also urge you to wash your hands regularly, keep up to date on your influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations, and stay home if you’re feeling sick, so another outbreak doesn’t happen.
