UPDATE: COVID-19 outbreak declared over at Stratford General Hospital

Admissions and transfers at Stratford General Hospital’s Integrated Stroke and Telemetry Unit are being accepted again.

Staff members with the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance say the COVID-19 outbreak that started in the unit last Friday is now over.

While the outbreak was ongoing, patients were limited to one family caregiver or visitor per day, visitors had to wear full personal protective equipment, and in-and-out privileges were restricted.

Now that it’s over, visitor restrictions have returned to normal, but masks are still required in all clinical areas, including waiting rooms.

Staff also urge you to wash your hands, keep up to date on your flu and COVID-19 shots, and stay home if you’re feeling sick, to prevent another outbreak.
