Breaking: Respiratory outbreak declared at Stratford General Hospital

A respiratory outbreak has been declared at the Stratford General Hospital.

Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance officials say it is in the Inpatient Unit which has been closed to admissions until further notice.

An outbreak is declared when there are two cases of acute respiratory infection (ARI) identified within 48 hours within the same unit, at least one of which must be laboratory-confirmed.

HPHA is working in collaboration with Huron Perth Public Health to manage the outbreak.
