Ontario Provincial Police say their recent Festive RIDE Campaign resulted in more enforcement and more charges in our area.
The campaign, targeting impaired and other driving offences, ran from November 16th to New Years Day with officers holding 2,446 RIDE events compared to 1,804 the year before.
Over 350 drivers were charged with impaired, up from over 270, and over 13,000 vehicles drove through the checks.
Police say they will continue their efforts to get impaired drivers off the road beyond the holiday season.
