Homeowners are being urged to follow a couple of tips to keep their water pipes from freezing.
They include knowing where your main water shut-off valve is located and disconnecting your garden hoses from outdoor taps, turning off the water supply to those taps, and letting them drain.
Officials with the City of Stratford say you should also insulate the pipes that are especially prone to freezing, like the ones in basements, garages, attics or exterior walls while also keeping your garage door closed.
