Stratford’s William Allman Arena to be celebrated on Saturday

It will be a day to remember and honor our local rink as it marks its 100th year.
A Community Day of Celebration is taking place on Saturday at the William Allman Memorial Arena with hockey games and events taking place from 8 a.m. until into the evening.
The Stratford Fighting Irish will be in action as will the Stratford Warriors and there will also be an alumni game featuring former players for the Junior B team.
Jason Clarke is the Director of Hockey Operations for the Warriors and he says it’s important to take time and celebrate the hockey cathedral.
“There have been so many great moments, so many great players and people that have been in and through the building that it deserves an entire year of celebration and multiple events.”
The arena was built in 1924 and renamed in 1996 to honor Bill Allman, its long-time manager.
