AISIN Canada announces expansion of Stratford plant

An “excellent start” to 2024.
That’s what Chief Executive Officer of investStratford Joani Gerber calls an announcement from AISIN Canada that they are expanding their manufacturing plant in Stratford.
The company, which manufactures sunroofs, doorframes, power back doors, moldings, and seating components, says the planned expansion includes 135,000 square feet of new manufacturing and office space.
AISIN Canada President Wayne Robert says in a media release that “business is good, but we’ve outgrown our current home.”
He adds that “fortunately, our plant is in an area that permits and promotes growth, enabling ACI to stay in its current location on Wright Boulevard. The City of Stratford and its people are important to us. We’re here to stay.”
Gerber says the company expects around 150 new positions to be created through the expansion but that’s still to be confirmed.
She says it’s a “positive story” and adds “it says a lot about what Stratford has to offer”.
As far as filling the new positions, Gerber says we need to continue to attract young people, while retaining the young people that currently live here, by making sure they know there are great careers in manufacturing.
