Perth County OPP is warning you about cryptocurrency scams after a victim lost over $140,000.
Just before 11:30 Tuesday morning, police say they received a report from a Perth East resident who had lost the money in an investment fraud.
The investigation continues into what happened.
Police say you should watch out for unsolicited telephone, email, or social media investment offers, displays of urgency so you don’t miss out, and telephone calls from crypto investment companies.
If you end up falling victim to fraud or know someone who has, contact your local police service to report the crime, and also report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
