Dufferin Arena recognized for cutting down on greenhouse gas emissions

Stratford’s Dufferin Arena is being recognized for its reductions in energy use.

As a result of recent upgrades and improvements, including boiler and hot water tank replacements and the installation of LED lighting, energy use at the arena has declined by 14.3 per cent since 2019.

Officials say it represents an estimated reduction of approximately 4.7 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions.

They add work continues at all city facilities and through their operations, as the City of Stratford strives to meet its emissions reduction targets of 30% by 2030, and net zero by 2050.
