Breaking: St.Marys Memorial Hospital temporarily closing emergency department on Sunday night

The St.Marys Memorial Hospital will be closing its emergency department overnight this weekend because of a staffing shortage.

Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance officials say it will close at 5 p.m. on Sunday and reopen at 7 a.m. Monday with regular 24-hour service resuming.

Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should call 9-1-1 and paramedics will remain available to the community and re-route to the nearest available emergency department.

The closest 24-hour Emergency Departments to the St. Marys Memorial Hospital are:

Stratford – HPHA – Stratford General Hospital

Exeter – South Huron Hospital*

Ingersoll – Alexandra Hospital*

London – LHSC– University Hospital or Victoria Hospital

*It is advised to check with these Emergency Departments before attending to ensure they are operating with regular hours.
