Influenza A outbreak declared at Stratford General Hospital

An outbreak of Influenza A has been declared at the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance’s Medicine Unit at Stratford General Hospital.
The unit has been closed to admissions, and HPHA staff members say they’re working with Huron Perth Public Health to manage the outbreak.
Patients in the unit can only have one family caregiver or visitor per day, with no in-and-out privileges, and they’ll be required to wear protective equipment like masks, gowns, and eye protection.
Meanwhile, family members and caregivers of affected patients are being notified, and other patients in the Medicine Unit are being tested for the disease.
