Four people face charges following North Perth bust

A joint investigation has paid off for local police. The Huron-Perth Community Street Crime Unit, Perth County OPP, the West Region Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit, were involved in a drug trafficking investigation that led to arrests on Feb. 29.

Police say the three suspects had fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, hydromorphone, drug trafficking paraphernalia, cash, and brass knuckles when arrested.

Police executed three Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrants at two residences on Wallace Avenue North and Elm Avenue North, and at a storage unit on Fairlane Road, in Listowel. As a result of the search warrants, another person was arrested.

The total value of the drugs is $15,000. Three North Perth residents, ages 37,38, and 38, are charged with various drug offences including possession for the purpose of trafficking. A 38-year-old from Wellington County has been charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon and failing to comply with a probation order.

All four have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on April 22.
