Can’t miss these dog waste containers

Three more colourful dog waste containers have been added to the community by the City of Stratford.

The special in-ground containers were installed at Upper Queen’s Park (opposite the bridge near Confederation Park), at Anne Hathaway Park (near the splash pad off Bruce Street) and at Avondale Cemetery (north side of the cemetery, near the maintenance shed).

The city has six of the self-contained dog waste containers, which can safely store dog waste in an underground compartment to eliminate contamination and odour.

Other locations include the Stratford Dog Park off Dunn Road, near the entrance to the T.J. Dolan Natural Area off John Street, and the north shore pedestrian pathway off William Street near James Street.

Collected dog waste is diverted from the landfill and sent to a facility that produces energy from waste.
