Stratford Police scheduled to hold third annual Community Bike Sale on Saturday

Stratford Police are hopping on two wheels to help support the Optimist Club of Stratford.
Scheduled for Saturday, the third annual Spring Community Bike Sale is taking place at the Rotary Complex from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
SPS Constable Darren Fischer says you can purchase a “new-to-you” bike that police have recovered over the last year and haven’t been able to find the owner.
All money raised will go to the Optimist Club.
Fischer adds that you can also sign up for Project 529, which he says has been invaluable in returning stolen bikes to their owners.

“Most of these bikes have not been reported stolen, so, without Project 529, we wouldn’t have any clue and this would just be another bike that would go into the sale.”

Of the bikes that will be on sale, Fischer says officers recovered 42 while the others were donated.
