Toyota executive to speak to local Rotary Club

The Rotary Club of Stratford’s luncheon this week will feature a top executive from Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada.

Scott MacKenzie, Director of Corporate & External Affairs, is the scheduled guest speaker on Thursday at Stratford Legion Branch 8.

The Rotary Club of Stratford said McKenzie’s remarks will focus on the impact of EV’s on the automotive industry, hydrogen powered vehicles, environmental policy, and where he sees the industry moving over the next five years.

It is a rare opportunity to hear directly from a global manufacturer on the changes that are rocking the automotive industry, the club said in a media release.

MacKenzie is responsible for all external affairs functions for Toyota Canada, including government affairs, regulatory affairs, public relations, and corporate communications. He has worked on several key policy negotiations, as a trusted advisor to the federal government on its successful negotiation of several international trade agreements.

The Rotary Club of Stratford, chartered in May 1922, has 116 members. They meet each Thursday either in person or online via zoom.

Thursday’s in-person meeting at Stratford Legion begins at noon. Lunch will be served beforehand at 11:30 a.m. Members of the public are welcome.
