Honours even through two games of the Sutherland Cup

Listowel Cyclones bounced back for a 4-1 win over St. Marys Lincolns in Game 2 of the Sutherland Cup on Sunday.

Luke Eurig, Mason Eurig, Jordan Alexander and Carter Coombs scored for the Cyclones. Owen Voortman had the lone goal for the Lincolns.

Dixon Grimes stopped 34 of 35 shots for Listowel. Brandon Abbott turned aside 24 shots for the Lincolns.

St. Marys opened the provincial junior B championship series on Friday (May 3) with a 3-2 win. The winners from the Western, Midwestern and Golden Horseshoe junior b leagues advanced to the round-robin portion of the Sutherland Cup.

St. Marys and Listowel advanced from there, ensuring an all-Perth county final series.

Jaden Lee notched two, first period goals for the Lincolns. Luca Spagnolo added a single marker. Luke Eurig and Harrison Meulensteen scored for the Cyclones.

Abbott had 33 saves for St. Marys. Grimes stopped 17 pucks.

Game 3 of the best-of-seven series is Tuesday, at the Steve Kerr Memorial Complex in Listowel.

The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
