More than 250 participants are expected to sign up for Hike for Hospice.
The Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth event is in its 10th year and will be held Sunday, June 23 at Stratford Perth Museum.
Lucie Stuart, Rotary Hospice Director of Fund Development and Stewardship, said Rotary Hospice “is here for the community and built by the community” and a decade of hikes has shown the dedication of the community.
About one-third of participants will choose to walk at home or elsewhere, as part of the ‘Hike on your Site’ option. The day will feature a BBQ lunch, games, music and cake.
Returning this year is the Memorial Hikers’ Wall, where family and friends of passed loved ones can submit their story and photos to be displayed on the hospice home pre-event page and at the museum.
Fundraising is expected to reach $100,000 and will help supply the hospice with necessary equipment and supplies, as well as comfort items such as homemade cookies, daily soup, warm blankets and outdoor space maintenance.
