What’s happening around Stratford and Area this weekend

Stelle and Carter trio are first up Friday night as the City of Stratford’s Market Square Music series gets rolling with the acoustic easy listening duo.

The free concert series runs from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. each Friday night until June 28 in the downtown core. Rain dates are Saturday mornings at 10:30 a.m.

Also happening around the city and county this weekend, the Local Community Food Centre is hosting a plant sale from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m.

The IG Walk for Alzheimer’s is also on Saturday at Upper Queen’s Park, starting at 10 a.m.

The Multicultural Association of Perth-Huron is hosting an African and Caribbean Day on Saturday, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Market Square.

The event promises to promote the “colours, rhythms, flavours and food of the rich heritage of the African and Caribbean cultures”.

On Saturday night, Stratford Concert Choir hosts Summer Song, beginning at 7 p.m. at Avondale United Church.

A free community breakfast is being hosted by Stratford Community of Christ on Sunday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. They are also accepting donations for Stratford House of Blessing.

The 20th anniversary of the Walk To Make Cystic Fibrosis History is also Sunday at the Upper Queen’s Park bandshell. The walk starts at 10 a.m.

And at Marsh Pond Park, Stratford Disc Golf Club hosts an open house from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
