Red carpet festivities are continuing to roll along at the Stratford Festival.
La Cage Aux Folles has its opening night performance Friday night.
La Cage Aux Folles takes place at a night club in the French Riviera in the 1970’s.
Guests will marvel at the performances and costumes of the musical comedy and opening night should be a momentous occasion, says Festival publicity director Ann Swerdfager.
“We are having a number of drag queens and drag performers come from Toronto and around the area to do the red carpet, so I’m hoping we are going to have some fun.”
To wrap up opening week, Romeo and Juliet opens on Saturday.
Swerdfager said people are getting out and about again and she senses a resurgence amongst theatre fans.
Swerdfager encouraged everyone to take in a performance this season.
“Remember how much you love Shakespeare and get to those shows.”
