Unemployment continues to drop in region

The region’s unemployment rate dropped in the month of May.

The latest figures from the Four County Labour Planning Board note a a half per cent drop to three per cent.

That’s the lowest unemployment rate in the Huron, Perth, Bruce, and Grey counties area since late 2022.

The provincial unemployment rate rose last month and sits at 6.9 per cent.

Canada’s unemployment rate also jumped in May, to 6.2 per cent. The economy added 27,000 jobs throughout Canada last month.
