They will swim in the quarry, cycle the streets and run through the grounds of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.
St. Marys has been selected to host the triathlon portion of the Ontario Summer Games.
St. Marys Mayor Al Strathdee said the community is honoured to welcome up to 60 young athletes, who will compete in one of sport’s toughest competitions, August 2nd and 3rd.
Strathdee said it will be an “incredible opportunity” to showcase the town and he hopes residents will provide a warm welcome.
The Ontario Summer Games host more than 3,500 participants competing in 18 sports.
A number of streets used in and around the event will be closed to make way for the athletes. Downtown businesses will be able to operate as usual and sidewalks and patios will be accessible.
A detour route will be in place to allow motorists to travel through town.
