A big jump: Marshall’s new skydive date set for July 12

A new jump date has been announced for Ed Marshall.

Marshall is a Second World War veteran, who will skydive to raise funds for The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids).

The event, named the “100 Year Jump,” honours Ed’s 100th birthday, celebrated in December.

Ed’s daughter, Stratford resident Maureen Pratley, says her dad is excited and he has been  talking about the endeavor for the past couple of years.

The new jump date is Friday, July 12 at noon. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, Ed will jump on July 13 or 14th. The initial date for the jump was cancelled by bad weather.

Ed will jump from 12,500 feet. His goal is to raise $1,000 for each of his 100 years, supporting the hospital’s highest priority needs.

Ed, the oldest living paratrooper of his battalion and last completed low-altitude training jumps 79 years ago.
