Get That Hope starts its run Sunday at the Stratford Festival

Studio Theatre is the venue for the world premier of Get That Hope.

The Stratford Festival performance, which starts Sunday, is the directorial debut of festival veteran André Sills.

Get That Hope is an examination of personal and cultural diasporas that “brims with laughter and tears”, according to a Stratford Festival media release.

Over the course of a single sweltering day in Toronto’s Little Jamaica, a lifetime of buried secrets and dreams will finally come to light, the Festival says in it synopsis.

The production features Celia Aloma as Rachel Whyte, Conrad Coates as Richard Whyte, Savion Roach as Simeon Whyte, Kim Roberts as Margaret Whyte and Jennifer Villaverde as Millicent Flores.

Get That Hope officially opens on Aug. 10 and runs until Sept. 28.
