Local band opening for Big Wreck at Stratford rock show

Canadian rockers Big Wreck are coming to Stratford in October.

Johann Yundt, lead vocal and rhythm guitar for local band, Small-Town Strip Club, is excited because they are opening for the much-loved headliners.

“This is definitely a big step for the band to open up for an established rock band,” Yundt said.

Big Wreck is a Canadian-American group that has many well-known songs and remains a busy touring band.

Julia Blowes from Spottydawg Productions, event organizer, is excited the company can bring another show to Stratford and promote local talent.

Blowes mentioned that Spottydawg Productions is a new company aiming to create more entertainment opportunities in Stratford.

In addition to the Big Wreck concert, the production company is also planning a country music festival in Mitchell featuring Stephen Lee Olsen.

Big Wreck and Small-Town Strip Club perform at Stratford Rotary Complex, Oct. 19.

Tickets for the concert are around $50 and will be available on Eventbrite.
