HPHA reports COVID-19 outbreak at Clinton Public Hospital

Clinton Public Hospital, part of the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA), has reported a COVID-19 outbreak in its inpatient unit.

According to their press release, the outbreak is defined by two or more confirmed cases that may have been contracted within the hospital.

HPHA is working with Huron Perth Public Health to manage the situation. Patients, their families, and staff are notified, and testing is underway.

Visitors are restricted to one per patient daily and must wear personal protective equipment, including masks, eye protection, gowns, and gloves, stated HPHA.

Erica Jensen, Manager of Quality, Patient Safety, and Infection Control, reminded the public to continue following health guidelines by washing their hands regularly and staying home if sick.

The unit is closed to new admissions until further notice.
