Stratford Perth Humane Society once again have a big need for foster families.
Stacy Murphy, a registered veterinary technician with the local humane society, said they are trying to encourage the community to get involved with their foster network.
The humane society provides food, bedding, toys – all the essentials.
“All the people have to do is provide a loving home, lots of love and snuggles.”
You can foster for a longer period or time, or a week or two to allow for socialization or weight gain.
Murphy is a seasoned foster parent, having fostered 97 pets.
“For me it is just this amazing way to give back to the humane society and have a chance to be a part of an animal’s story.”
Murphy says it’s a joy to see them grow and become more confident, until ready to move on.
“People always say it must be so hard to give them up. Really, I see it as a way I can help them in their journey to find a forever home and that feels really special.”
