Rae announces funding for land ambulance service, offload nurses program

Perth Wellington MPP Matthew Rae has announced $8.3 million in funding for Perth County.

Rae said the majority of the funding is through the province’s land ambulance service grant, noting that communities rely on first responders for timely and high-quality care.

About $109,000 comes through a dedicated offload nurses program, to ensure adequate staff for offloading patients at emergency departments.

In a released statement, Perth County Warden Rhonda Ehgoetz said the county is pleased to receive additional investment for paramedic services.

Rae said provincial ambulance offload times have been reduced by more than 50 per cent since peaking in October, 2022.
