September is a big month for United Way Perth-Huron.
Preparations for the annual fundraising campaign come to fruition with Unite For A Bite – the annual lunch launch for the organization, which is slated for Sept. 20.
In addition to revealing the campaign goal, guests are treated to a Friday afternoon meal featuring gourmet hot dogs and homemade coleslaw.
Liz Cooper, Manager of Community Development for the local United Way, said the event is a reminder for the community and the start of a new beginning.
“It’s sort of the kickoff of the season. People kind of come back together. They have been away on holidays, summer vacations, school starts back up. It’s a time to gather.”
The campaign goal will be revealed. Winners of the Lucky Local Raffle will also be announced.
Cooper said the get together is a chance to celebrate what Stratford is and how everyone can contribute to ensuring it is a great place to live.
“It is a little fundraiser for us but more about hey this is who we are, this is what we are doing for our community so come out and support it.”
Tickets are $20 in advance at the United Way headquarters on Erie Street, or $25 at ticketscene.ca.
