In recognition of contributions to the arts and community, the City of Stratford has declared the week of Sept. 23-28 as Stratford Symphony Orchestra Week.
The symphony opens its 20th season on Sept. 28, with a performance of Beethoven’s 5th symphony. Led by conductor William Rowson, the show will feature bassoonist Alexandre von Wartburg.
The performance at Avondale United Church will double as an anniversary celebration.
Other performances this season include double bass legend and Juno winner Joel Quarrington, on Nov. 16, and a New Year’s Day celebration.
