Country music fans flocking to Mitchell for Tailgate Music Festival

Country music fans are headed to Mitchell on Friday.

The Tailgate Music Festival at Keterson Park will feature a combination of local talent and a major headliner in Steven Lee Olsen.

Local musician Janna Leduc is performing and said fans will enjoy the small-town vibe capped with a major performing artist.

“It feels really dynamic and you kind of get the best of both worlds.”

Adam Cousins, Bradley Hale, Max Smith and Amelia Jordan are also scheduled to perform.

Doors open at 5 p.m., with music starting shortly after and continuing straight through to midnight.

“It’s going to be a jam-packed evening of just live music, very little change over in between bands its going to be fantastic.”

The festival is a fundraiser for West Perth Village, a long-term care facility in Mitchell.

Leduc has worked in Nashville recently putting a record together with a classic country feel.

“So I have got twelve songs recorded. Just in the final stages right now of mixing and mastering…so I am hoping to be able to start releasing music in the next month or two.”

Fans can listen to seven original tunes from Leduc at the Tailgate Festival on Friday, with a full eight-piece band.

Tickets were just about sold out but there may be some available online.
