An upcoming concert at Avondale United Church will provide a chance for the greater community to listen to some musical talent.
Most of the lineup for the Power of Music, the church’s 3rd annual variety show, are well-known to the Avondale community.
The Oct. 25 performance will feature Kelly Walker, the Trio Con Brio, Kinnaris, Trish Harris & Townline Slim, Festival Sounds Chorus and The Avondale Praise Band, amongst others.
Aleah Graff, community engagement coordinator at Avondale Church, is a member of the music series planning team.
“It is just amazing to witness all the entertaining, talented people that have come together to put this on.”
Graff says opening the doors for others to see and hear the musical talent is a great way to boost the spirits as the weather and seasons change.
Music has the power to help through changing times, she says.
Graff praised members of the church for their efforts in getting the concert together.
“It is a lot of work and there is a lot of of moving parts and a lot of dedicated volunteers on our team.”
Tickets are $20 each, or free for age 12 and under.
Proceeds support Avondale’s ministries locally and globally.
