You will definitely see a lot of people supported by L’Arche Stratford at their annual Walk ‘n Roll event next month at Upper Queen’s Park.
Organizers are hoping more folks from outside the organization sign up for a fundraiser for the Be Belong Become capital campaign, to rebuild their headquarters at 426 Britannia Street.
“We want to attract the wider community and get some different participants in to grow the event,” said Wendy Gray, fundraising leader at L’Arche Stratford.
L’Arche Stratford welcomes adults with intellectual disabilities and assistants who live, work and learn with them. The organization is active in 37 countries and their are 29 communities in Stratford.
Gray says the event is a great opportunity to meet L’Arche Stratford employees and those they support and learn more about what they do.
“Come and have a nice walk and meet the folks and have some refreshment with us.”
The live walk is Oct. 19, starting at 10 a.m. You can sign up as a team or individual at this link.
Throughout the month of October, you can donate online to support a community member or team to help them reach their goal. You can also share the link on your social media to gather more support and donations.
