The City of Stratford reminds residents that hydrant flushing is underway.
Residents may notice some discoloured water coming from taps, which is a normal part of the process.
The city advises running cold water for 10 to 15 minutes until it clears and choosing the tap closest to where water service enters the house. If that doesn’t work run it for 30 minutes.
Flushing removes iron that may have settled in watermains and the city does it twice per year. Flushing will continue for the next few weeks.
Call the city’s water division during business hours if you have any concerns or questions.
