Perth County Council: New Official Plan ready for public comment

Perth County’s new Official Plan is ready for public opinion.

On Thursday, Oct. 17, the county will host a public meeting during its regular council session to present the official plan to the public and provide an opportunity for comment.

The new Official Plan is supportive of the building community, ensuring environmental health, and informed land use decisions within Perth County.

It also ensures consistent policy implementation across the county and provides an easy-to-navigate planning framework.

The public meeting is at the West Perth Municipal Office in Mitchell at at 9 a.m.

Anyone may attend and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition of the plan.

If you would like to speak at the meeting, advanced registration is preferred. Contact legislative services division by Oct. 10 at noon to register a delegation for the public meeting.

If you are unable to participate in the meeting, you can provide written comments to [email protected] or by mail to 1 Huron Street, Stratford, Ontario N5A 5S4.

A copy of the new Official Plan, FAQs, project updates and background studies completed will be available to view on the county’s website.
