A buffet spread and some engaging political company is the recipe for this year’s Mayor’s Community Breakfast Thursday in Stratford.
Each year, the breakfast highlights an organization in Stratford that is making waves of change in order to raise awareness and donations.
This year, the event is showcasing Shelterlink Youth Services, a Perth County organization supporting youth ages 14 to 24, experiencing homelessness or at-risk of homelessness.
The breakfast cost is a monetary donation to Shelterlink Youth Services or specific pantry items like cereals, snacks, peanut butter or macaroni and cheese. You can also donate household items such as dish soap, laundry soap and personal hygiene items.
Entertainment will be provided by local artist Dayna Manning and a surprise musical guest.
Stratford Mayor Martin Ritsma said he looks forward to the breakfast.
“There’s gonna be great food, great education taking place,” said the mayor.
The 17th annual community breakfast is at The Arden Park Hotel from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
