Back for its second year, the Perth County Stewardship Program aims to contribute to the resiliency of natural and agricultural lands across the county.
The program supports tree-planting projects and forest management plans across the region.
The program has three streams (Landowner, Community, and Woodlot). Each stream is geared towards different tree planting projects such as forest rehabilitation, windbreaks, stream buffers, and forest health check-ups.
The program’s first year was overwhelmingly successful, as it supported 35 landowners and community groups in planting almost 15,000 trees.
Perth County has pledged $100,000 to the 2025 program intake.
Eligible applicants can apply for funding through the county’s website starting in November.
